Why does my dog get extreme anxiety when I am not near her?

I had that problem too. I was told by my vet it is because I baby my dog too much. I have since been a bit more firm with him and it seems to be working (after several months), he doesn't whine nearly as much when I am away (according to my family members). They too have been more stern with him (no yelling, no hurting), they tell him firmly to "go lay down" if he's upset. I think your hubby will have to walk your Poodle and be firm with her, a slight jerk on the leash if she decides she doesn't want to go along without you etc. Good luck!
