Was the Islamic prophet Muhammad mentally ill?

Muhammad the Islamic prophet that founded Islam claim to have traveled to Jerusalem then ascended into heaven in human form in the middle of the night on a flying horse, and claimed god was talking to him. If I made the same claim’s tomorrow people wouldn’t hesitate to call me crazy or a liar or both (even if a could give details). Based on modern medical knowledge is it reasonable to ume Muhammad was mentally ill?
