Calculating work done on a projectile by compressed gas?

How would i work out the work done on a projectile, moving down a barrel, propelled by compressed gas, if the gas expansion is umed adiabatic and the pressure drop across the valve is included? i have already managed to work it out if the valve pressure drop is not included. Thanks
